Thomas, 26, is scheduled to face also unbeaten and IBF ranked #3 Russian Murat Gassiev on December 18 at The Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Trainer Stacey McKinley held a strong training session late last week with Thomas ‘who at this moment is looking very strong and ready to show all his talent against a hard and dangerous opponent such as Gassiev,’ said Mckinley.

Gassiev holds his own undefeated record, however, has a higher percentage of knockouts in 22 matches at over 70%. He has also won his last five fights before the finish.

‘I don’t care about his record and don’t fear his power,’ Thomas said. ‘I’ll try to do my own fight and I’m sure I will achieve the victory,’ he added.

The last knockout victory by Thomas was when he beat Junior Ramos in three rounds at Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic back in October 2102.
