Broner to go up against ‘Tranzformer’ Taylor on September 6

‘The Problem’ has since scored a one-sided victory over Californian Carlos Molina to get himself back into the win column and will now hope to move closer towards another world title shot by overcoming the 23 year-old prospect.

Broner, who this week turned 25, is campaigning at the light-welterweight as he aims for a shot at the likes of Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson in the near future, but faces no easy task against Taylor, who is in decent form.

Taylor comes into the clash on the back of a career best win over Karim Mayfield last week and fought a spirited ten rounds against WBO belt holder Chris Algieri prior to that in the same venue at Huntington’s Paramount Theatre.

The exciting contest adds to the already slated Lucas Matthysse v Michael Perez light-welterweight bout which was first in negotiations last week and leaves only ex-WBC 147lb champion Andre Berto left to announce his foe for the US Bank Arena triple-header in Cincinatti, Ohio.
