Fury: Chambers ready for any top ten heavyweight, Chisora an option

Chambers, 32, has been moving slowly since joining up with Team Fury earlier this year and will have a third warm-up contest on May 17 at Leeds Town Hall before plotting a bigger move in the top division rankings.

Wins over journeymen Tomas Mrazek and Moses Matovu have given Chambers time to adjust to Fury’s new coaching methods as the respected trainer readies the ex-Klitschko challenger for a tougher opponent.

“We are looking forward to seeing Eddie back in action on the 17th of May live on Channel 5,” Fury told World Boxing News.

“The are a few opponents in the frame, but we are trying to get a decent name for Eddie as was know he is ready for any of the top ten right now. We are just treading water until we can make the right fights for Eddie.”

One of those ‘right fights’ could be an autumn clash with Dereck Chisora, who is currently scheduled to face Peter’s nephew Tyson on July 26 in Manchester. A victory for Tyson would leave Chisora at a loose end for a comeback bout and Fury is open-minded about putting Chambers’ forward as a possible for ‘Del Boy’ if he loses in the summer.

“The Chisora option is obviously a fight we would look at for Eddie once the fight with Tyson is out of the way,” he added.
