Mayweather, 38, attempts to equal Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 retirement record on September 12 in Las Vegas in a contest that is set to shown free-to-air on CBS.
An official announcement is long overdue and could be made at any point via Mayweather’s usual method of social media.
