On the 30th of September, the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena will play host to the much-awaited super middleweight clash between boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez and the unstoppable power-punching Jermel Charlo.

These two boxing talents will take to the ring at 8 pm ET, and we wait to see who will walk away with a title and bragging rights and who will live to fight another day. The match will also be live on SHOWTIME.

Two Boxing Legends

33-year-old Canelo has had an outstanding boxing career with unbelievable achievements that include four super middleweight titles already under his belt. Should he win this match, he will carve his name in the annals of boxing history and join other boxing legends like Sugar Ray Leonard in successfully defending titles across two weight classes.

Canelo, who also refers to himself as the pride Of Guadalajara, hopes to raise the Mexican flag higher this time by taking down an equally determined Charlo in what will be a historic win for the Mexican if it goes his way. Canelo has already faced some of Boxing’s big boys in the ring including Mayweather, and will hope to capitalize on his experience to come out as the winner when all is done.

Charlo, a Houston native is not going to make things easy for his worthy opponent. He has had an illustrious career so far with a recent knockout against Castano announcing to the boxing world that there was a new sheriff in town and he meant business. Under the guidance of his long-time trainer Derrick James who was also crowned 2022’s trainer of the year, Charlo’s rise to stardom has been nothing but stellar. We can all remember how in 2016, he and his twin brother Jermall made history by being world champions in the same class. He beams with excitement in the build-up to the match, and while he has lots of respect for Canelo, he believes he has a special gift for his fans come September 30th.

Fans can get their pre-sale tickets on August 10th starting at 10 am PT on AXS.com by using code PBC. General ticket sales will begin the next day, and you should grab yourself one as this will be one thrilling match no boxing fan should miss.

This clash pits two undisputed champions in what is going to be a historic “mega match” according to SHOWTIME SPORTS’ Stephen Espinoza. Eddy Reinoso who is Canelo’s manager come trainer believes they are ready for the fight after intense high-altitude training sessions in the run-up to the match cognizant of the fact that the indefatigable Charlo will present a mammoth challenge they hope to overcome.

These two fighters have received accolades for their attention to detail and relentless pursuit of excellence with the most recent coming from TGB PROMOTIONS’ Tom Brown. Brown believes this is a dream matchup, and the boxing fraternity is in for a treat come the end of September.

Most pundits, however, opine that Canelo will most likely come out as the winner. With some admonishing Charlo for accepting a fight, he is most likely going to lose all for a big payday. But Charlo had a few words for the naysayers and believes that when the fight is over the world will recognize he is the best fighter alive. We definitely have a great fight on our hands here, and come to the end of September, you have to be ready to rumble.
