‘I look easy!’ Canelo fires back on Jermell Charlo size difference

Canelo Alvarez responded to those questioning whether Jermell Charlo can cause an upset after their size differential in New York.

On the second leg of their press tour, Canelo fired back at those pointing out that Charlo – who campaigns two divisions below him – is actually the bigger fighter.

Speaking in Los Angeles after stopping in the Big Apple, Canelo said Charlo would be in for a rude awakening.

“I always say that outside of the ring, I look like I’m an easy opponent,” said Canelo from The Beverly Hilton. “But it’s completely different when fighters step in the ring with me.

“It’s not the same watching me from outside the ring as it is actually being inside the ring with me. I’m a different guy.”

Canelo vs Charlo

The undisputed boxing superstars faced off for the second consecutive day before they traded blows in a historic clash.

After kicking off the fight promotion in New York on Tuesday, the four-belt super middleweight and super welterweight champions hit the west coast.

They previewed their showdown that will pit two reigning undisputed champions against each other for the first time in the four-belt era.

Charlo stated: “After September 30, people will appreciate my skills. They will appreciate what I’ve been doing for so long, ever since I was a kid.

“I come to put on a show with every fight, and I’m dangerous the whole fight. I want to be known as great.

“I’m going to bring that Texas heat. I’m going to show up and show out. I’ll have fun and do what I do. This is what I love to do. I’m going to represent the culture and put on a show.

“Get your tickets, tune into ‘All-Access,’ tune into the fight. We’re bringing boxing up to be the best that it can be this year. We’re going to give you that bang for your buck.”

Promoter Tom Brown added: “This is going to be an incredible night, and September 30 promises to be nothing but fireworks.

“Canelo vs Charlo will happen in front of another electrifying sold out crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Get your tickets early because this is a fight you won’t want to miss.”
