Joseph Parker elevates bad blood, calls Anthony Joshua ‘King of Steroids’

Without directly stating it, Parker suggested the current heavyweight king’s physique was down to him cheating his way to the top.

Speaking with NZME, Parker pulled no punches just a short time after the fight was confirmed for March 31 in Cardiff, Wales.

“They call me the king of pies, but I call him the king of steroids,” Parker told the Radio Sports Breakfast.

“Who knows, if you are that big and that muscly, there’s something wrong.

”I have heard the word, I have looked at him, and I have seen. He has been very close with Klitschko… he has been a reigning champion for a long time.

“So I don’t know, it may be true. Maybe not.

”I don’t know how he will respond. He may be angry or upset at what we have been saying.

“It’s part of the game. I am not accusing him of using steroids. But I am saying it is a possibility.’

“There are a lot of ways you can dodge drug testing,” the New Zealander added.

Parker, the WBO champion, puts his belt on the line against Joshua’s IBO, IBF, and WBA versions to become the number one heavyweight on the planet.

An undisputed collision with WBC ruler Deontay Wilder hangs in the balance, which would land the victor a purse of up to an eye-popping eight-figures if all five belts were up for grabs come the summer.
