Marquez calling Arum’s bluff as Macau Pacquiao meeting approaches

In a recent video circulated by Reuters, the 39 year-old says that he hopes to find another rival besides Pacquiao, along with hinting that retirement is also weighing in his mind since his big knockout win against the Filipino last year.

The Mexican will still meet with Top Rank supremo Arum at the pro debut of Zou Shiming in China next month though, with Pacquiao, 34, also expected to attend and both are set to thrash out a possible deal to fight again in September.

The recent calls by Marquez could be a smokescreen to flush out a better offer from Arum as reliable reports are that ‘Dinamita’ is looking for $20million to take on Pacquiao for a fifth time, with Arum is only willing to pay in the region of $15million.

All will become clearer once the three parties meet up to discuss where they go from here, but at this stage, with the numbers and interest involved in a potenital return, it would be foolish for anyone to think that the fifth instalment is not able to go ahead as planned by Arum this year.
