Tommy Morrison wife: I held his powerful left hook hand until the end

Former WBO heavyweight title-holder Tommy Morrison passed away yesterday leaving the whole of boxing in shock at the death of the Rocky V star.

Tommy’s wife Trisha, who cared for her husband during his illness, sent out a heartfelt description of the knockout artist’s final hours as the sport tries to come to terms with losing a great champion at no age.

“Tommy fought right to his last breath. I held his powerful left hook hand till the end and he was not alone. I never left his side,” Trish wrote on his official Facebook page.

“He so loved his fans, reading and listening to your emails and messages. In his last few minutes, I whispered into his ear how much his friends and family loved him.”

Trisha then went on to state that ‘The Duke’ deserves to be honored for his exciting ring career. Tommy had fans on the edge of their seats waiting for that KO left hook.

She plans to lead a campaign for formal recognition of Morrison’s achievements.

“He deserves to be inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame,” said Trisha. “Would you help me help him get there?

“Send your email’s of support and love to [email protected] so I can share them with his sons that love him so much,” she added.

Trisha for Tommy always.

Morrison died late on Sunday night after battling a terminal illness for far longer than was expected by doctors.

It was further proof that Tommy was a true fighter outside of the ring. He will be missed.
