Yafai v Muranaka: Undercard results from Birmingham

Building on a career-best win over Paulie Malignaggi, Sam Eggington added the European welterweight title to his recent accolades.

Eggington engaged in war with Spaniard Ceferino Rodriguez but ultimately found a way to end the bout and push further towards a world title shot.

‘The Savage’ overcame some hairy moments to come on strong in the second half of the fight, hurting Rodriguez in the ninth before finishing the job a round later.

Gamal Yafai proved too strong for Sean Davis as the brother of headliner Kal claimed the WBC International super-bantamweight belt.

The 25 year-old dropped Davis six times in total before taking out his fellow-undefeated rival in the seventh round.

Yafai is now 12-0, whilst Davis drops to 12-1

Frenchman Renald Garrido once again proved to be a tough nut to crack as the entertaining ‘Lion’ gave Frankie Gavin a scare or two.

Garrido, who holds a victory over Bradley Saunders, was never unfazed by facing the former world amateur champion and went the full eight rounds with Gavin.

In the end, the pair were only separated by a couple of points as the home fighter won 77-75 to take the spoils.

Josh Kelly continued his impressive start in the pro ranks with a fourth round stoppage of Jony Vina. Kelly showed why there’s so much about his career as the 23 year-old pushed to 2-0 with promoter Eddie Hearn.

In a battle for the Midlands super welterweight title over ten rounds, Adam Harper claimed the spoils in a fiercely-fought battle with Ryan Kelly.

Harper earned a 97-95 decision with referee Shaun Messer to make it a perfect eight wins from eight starts.

Jordan Clayton squeezed to 6-0 with a four round nod over Nick Golubs. The pair engaged in a war which the 23 year-old took my the narrowest of margins 39-38.

At middleweight, Kieron Conway shut out Jan Balog to push to 3-0, whilst Aaron Lovell did likewise against Liam Richards to improve his C.V to 2-0.

Charlie Williams suffered the first blemish of his seven-fight pro career when held to a draw against nine-loss Josh Thorne, before Cori Gibbs took every round from Ahmed Ibrahim on his way to an eleventh straight victory.
