Following a statement released by Murray on Sunday, Warren has done likewise, although won’t be making further comment on the matter until Monday.

Warren said: “Due to an injury suffered by Billy Joe Saunders, unfortunately, he has had to withdraw from his June 23rd fight with Martin Murray at the o2 Arena.

“A full statement on the show will be made tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Earlier, Murray revealed his heartbreaking news via social media, by stating: “I thought I’d tell you first before you hear another bull**** story. The fight is off, he’s s*** out again.

“First it was his hand and now it’s his hamstring. We all know he wants a big money fight with Golovkin or Canelo.”

His accompanying Instagram post read:”THE FIGHT IS OFF!! Billy Joe Saunders has s*** out again,” said Murray. “Gutted is an understatement but nothing I can do.

“Just want to apologise to everyone who’s bought tickets and booked hotels and thank everyone for their continued support.

“Hopefully, another training camp doesn’t go to waste and my management team can get me a fight sorted in the next couple of weeks,” he added.

Murray may now have to arrange some sort of warm-up for a bigger fight at the end of 2018, although with Saunders out of the picture, all the title belts will be tied up at 160 pounds.
