Deontay Wilder breaks silence, gives interview blasting Eddie Hearn

As WBN continue to update from co-manager and advisor Shelly Finkel’s side, the man dealing with those Joshua talks, Wilder has given his view to boxing reporter Michelle Phelps in a video sit-down chat.

Covering all things Joshua, the Briton’s promoter Eddie Hearn and even Tyson Fury, Wilder gave a full and frank account of the way he currently sees things.

Going over his $50m offer to Joshua, which was turned down, Wilder has laid plenty of blame on Hearn’s door for the current failure to agree terms.

WBN revealed a contract had been received by Finkel and two points needed clarifying, something Hearn has now adhered to. A response from Finkel is not set to be forthcoming until next week.

Finkel had told World Boxing News: “We looked at the contract on Monday and raised two specific details in the paperwork that we needed clarification of,” Finkel exclusively told WBN.

“It’s frustrating as Eddie Hearn is stating in the media that we need to be quick and sign the contract, but how can we sign if they don’t respond to our email and clarify our concerns?

“If we are being rushed we really need to hear back from Barry in order to be able to complete things on our side,” he added.

Before updating on Friday night to confirm the receipt of Hearn’s email reply. “Eddie sent us a response, which we will respond to next week.”

Wilder, in his one-on-one with Phelps, said the following: “It’s clear to see that they don’t wanna fight me. Every time they come with something, I’ve agreed to everything and they haven’t agreed to anything. If he fights Povetkin, then he’s completely ducked!

“Eddie is a manipulator, contradictor and a compulsive liar. If anybody can’t identify a snake, that’s the one you have to practice on.

“Why the f*** don’t you make the fight (if I’ve fought bums all my career)? Why do you need more than eight weeks to prepare for a bum like me?

“All the things they’ve put me through, I can’t wait. I’m going to take Eddie’s head and stick it on Joshua’s body,” The WBC champion told Behind the Gloves.
