Dillian Whyte will appear on Celebrity Masterchef opposite former boxing promoter and transgender advocate Kellie Maloney.

WBC number one contender Whyte dons his famous apron alongside Maloney, formerly known as Frank before a public transition into a woman.

Both will be hoping to take home the trophy against a number of famous names from the world of soaps, sport and beyond.

The new series will begin in the summer.

Maloney has kept a low profile since a media storm brewed over her transformation. Surgery had to be corrected more than once.

For Whyte, the one-time Anthony Joshua opponent has a fight lined up on July 20. He participated in the filming some months ago.

‘The Bodysnatcher’ faces Oscar Rivas in London. Whyte recently gave an update on his training camp.

“Training is really good. Being here, everything is under one roof and they’re looking after me, tracking everything that. I’m doing and seeing where I’m at,” said Whyte on training with Mark Tibbs.

“They’re very realistic with where I should be. On where I am and how hard I need to work and stuff.

“I have a look to see where I’m at numbers wise to see where I’m at with this training camp compared to other camps. See what’s going on, how far I’ve come and when was my best one.

“Some camps are better than others and flow smoother than others.

On his relationship with trainer Tibbs, Whyte added: “Me and Mark get on well. We have a good relationship. I’ve got a lot of respect for him. He’s got a lot of respect for me. We get on.

“Training camp is never a struggle with Mark. At the start it can be a bit glitchy here and there but once we get moving it just falls into place,” he concluded.

Fans can look forward to Whyte cooking up a storm with John Torode and Gregg Wallace, when the boxer goes up against the likes of ex-footballer Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock, Eastenders star Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) and Oti Mabuse of Strictly Come Dancing fame.

French actress Elizabeth Bourgine, Joey Essex of TOWIE and Vicky Pattinson of Geordie Shore are just a few more of those taking part.
