In his home city at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, world champion Josh Warrington controversially defended his IBF featherweight title against mandatory challenger Kid Galahad.
Warrington kept a firm grip on his belt but was helped along the way by some generous judging.
Galahad began brightly and used his superior movement and smothering tactics throughout the contest. Warrington struggled to deal with the switch-hitting of the Sheffield man and at no point seemed ahead in the fight.
The closer rounds, of which there many, were obviously carded for the title holder with two of the three judges.
After twelve rounds, Warrington took the decision 116-112 and 116-113, with Galahad getting it 115-113 with one official.
WBN had it 116-112 to Galahad.
In the co-feature, a war between Zelfa Barrett and Lyon Woodstock ensued for the duration of the vacant Commonwealth super-featherweight clash.
Barrett took the spoils in an entertaining battle to pick up the strap and move on to bigger things.
As the televised portion got underway, JJ Metcalf took advantage of the increased spotlight.
Metcalf defeated former world title challenger Jason Welborn with a brutal body shot in the eighth round.
The proud new owner of the Commonwealth super-welterweight strap, Metcalf will be looking to build on his success quickly.
Before that, Shakiel Thompson continued his progress with a decision win over Alistair Warren.
Kamil Sokolowski did it again as the UK-based Pole shocked yet another heavyweight. Sokolowski, who recently defeated Nick Webb and dropped Lucas Browne, out-worked Alex Dickinson to take the spoils.
Sokolowski is now 7-15-2 as Dickinson drops to 10-1.
EARLY ACTION
Prior to the BT Sport broadcast, Jake Bateson pushed his C.V to 10-0 with a points win over Bayardo Ramos.
Also on the card, Lyndon Arthur ended his clash with Andrzej Soldra in the opening session.
In a six-rounder, one-loss contender Mark Heffron won his middleweight bout against Daniel Urbanski.
Heffron has now scored two victories since losing out to Liam Williams back in December.
Welsh light-heavyweight prospect Kody Davies dropped Harry Matthews on his way to a wide points win.
Davies, signed to the same management as Joe Joyce, is eyeing a step up in class later this year.
Following Davies, middleweight Troy Williamson recorded a stoppage win over Edwin Palacios. The end came in the sixth.
Williamson has now won four in a row since being held by Jack Flatley to a draw.
Jack McGann began proceedings in a four-round super-welterweight bout. McGann gained a third pro victory in the process.
The former MMA fighter also has one draw on his record.
