Big-hitting Australian Lucas Browne is aiming for redemption at the O2 Arena following his huge knockout loss to Dillian Whyte.

Browne was blasted out by Whyte a year ago. ‘Big Daddy’ needed medical attention after what was a sickening blow by the ‘Bodysnatcher’ in London.

Having since dusted himself down and returned to form, Browne is bidding to prove he’s still got it against David Allen on April 20.

“I’m eager to redeem myself at The O2. I will be coming for a knockout,” said Browne.

“I’m a fan of Dave, I have nothing bad to say about him. I’m looking forward to a good old-fashioned brawl on April 20.

This is the fight for me to showcase who and what I am to the masses. It’s a blockbuster fight. I know Dave is a big crowd favourite. But that will drive me on to silence the fans.

“I’m at the stage in my career where I need to be 100% serious, I’m getting too old to play around.

“The loss to Whyte was the kick in the butt that I needed. Since then I’ve changed my promoter, team, training and general approach to boxing.”

Those changes Browne speaks of included leaving Ricky Hatton’s banner following a tempestuous relationship.

Citing his frustrations at a lack of opportunities on many occasions, Browne was eager to sever ties once his contract expired.
