George Foreman’s daughter and former professional boxer Freeda has been found dead at her Houston home at the age of 42.
Police investigating Freeda’s death do not suspect foul play, leading many to believe she may have committed suicide.
One of Foreman’s ten children, Freeda fought six times between 2000 and 2001 amassing a 5-1 record in the ring.
Upon suffering her first loss, Foreman reportedly paid Freeda a hefty sum not to trade punches again as it was too painful for him.
‘Big’ George had two solid spells in the sport himself, becoming the oldest world heavyweight champion of all time at 45.
Sharing the spotlight in the ‘Golden Era’ of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, Foreman is a living legend.
Freeda wanted to follow in her dad’s famous footsteps, and at one point was linked to a massive battle against Ali’s daughters Laila.
The fight never came to fruition and Freeda retired following a four-round split loss in November 2001.
Turning pro in June 2000, Freeda fought in Las Vegas on two occasions where both her knockouts were recorded.
Her final bout took place at Humble Civic Center in Texas, where 0-3 southpaw Evelyn Rodriguez somehow got the decision.
The writing was on the wall for Freeda from that point on. George then put his hands in his pocket in order for Freeda to cease trading blows.
Since then, the middleweight has been largely out of the limelight.
Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum shared his grief at the situation in a social media post on Saturday.
“All of us at Top Rank send our heartfelt condolences to our friend George Foreman on the untimely death of his daughter, Freeda.”
Upon turning pro, Freeda explained that dad George was hopeful none of his children would fight.
“Dad never wanted any of his kids to see him fight. He always protected us from that world.
“With five brothers, there were plenty of fights at home. When Dad was home, we’d run around the house, play fighting and I’d beat up on my three younger brothers!”

One of those brothers, all of whom are called George, did make it to an impressive 16-0 with 15 knockouts.
George III was on the verge of stepping up in class in 2012. It’s believed his father also persuaded George III to quit before facing any of the bigger names.
