Lennox Lewis questions Jarrell Miller push, Anthony Joshua vendetta talk

Lennox Lewis has questioned why Jarrell Miller felt the need to push Anthony Joshua as the pair went face-to-face in New York.

Miller wasted no time putting his hands on Joshua in front of the world’s media ahead of their June 1 clash at Madison Square Garden.

Shortly after the incident, Lewis asked: ‘What’s he so angry about? He gets a shot at the world championship!’

Soon, replies came from Joshua fans, some of whom believe Lewis holds a grudge against the four-belt heavyweight champion.

“Why does Lennox have a vendetta with Joshua? That’s what we want to know,” asked one replier.

Lewis then stated: “How so? I’d like to know.” Before quizzing another by saying, ‘What makes you think that?’

It’s no secret Lewis has been vocal in his beliefs that Joshua’s career path is on an alternative road to his view. Lewis is adamant promoter Eddie Hearn should have done more to secure fights with Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

Even now, Wilder and Fury could potentially be open to offers. However, Hearn and Joshua have effectively ruled that out themselves by agreeing on the Miller fight.

Fury signed a deal with ESPN. This move has thus far delayed talks with Wilder over a rematch.

50-50

It’s thought any 50-50 bid made right now by Hearn would be enough to secure either fighter for Joshua this summer.

Many believe Lewis is just saying things how they are, whilst others support Joshua no matter what moves he makes.

A win over Miller would be all well and good, but if Joshua pulled out of the fight and put equal money on the table, Wilder or Fury would happen next.

Should Wilder and Fury continue their own negotiations and eventually sign another deal, Joshua could again be out of the loop for the foreseeable future.

According to Bob Arum, Fury could potentially delay Wilder for at least two more fights. But failed even to mention Joshua as an option when commenting on the new deal.
