Regie Suganob returns to action July 23 in Bohol

Undefeated Filipino boxing prospect Regie Suganob will fight Asyer Aluman of Indonesia in the main event of the “Kumong Bol-anon VI” boxing card this Saturday, July 23 at the Cogon Gymnasium, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.

Suganob, who holds a 10-0 win-loss record with 3 knockouts, is the reigning IBF Youth Light Flyweight Champion. He is currently rank no. 7 by the IBF and no.15 by the WBO in the 108-pound division.

The 24-year old Suganob last fought on March 7 and won against countryman Ricardo Sueno by unanimous decision. Prior to that, Suganob won the vacant IBF Youth Light Flyweight title by outpointing the previously unbeaten Jerome Baloro last December 10, 2021.

Meanwhile, Asyer Aluman (3-2-1-2KOs) is coming off a unanimous decision win against Sulis Barrera on May 21 in Jakarta, Indonesia. However, he lost to Syed Muhammad Asif of Pakistan via unanimous decision on March 26 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Aluman will be the first foreign boxer to fight in the Philppines since the pandemic affected the country’s sports events on March 2020.

In the undercard, Antonio Siesmundo (8-3-7KOs) of PMI Bohol Boxing will fight Jhunrick Carcedo(7-1-7KOs) of Sanman Boxing, General Santos City for the vacant World Boxing Foundation Asia Pacific Super Lightweight title. Local boxing fans will expect an explosive fight between the two hard-hitting boxers.

Featherweight prospect Virgel Vitor (17-2-10KOs) will fight Ivor Lastrilla (12-12-7KOs) in an 8-round bout.

Kumong Bol-anon VI is the sixth installment of a series of boxing events presented by PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions. The event will be streamed live on PMI Bohol Boxing Stable Facebook page and in the Kumong Bol-anon Youtube channel.
