Eddie Hearn on Leonard Ellerbe exhibition: I can’t fight, but he’s older

Eddie Hearn responded to Leonard Ellerbe saying he wanted to stomp him out by commenting on a fight.

UK bookmakers at SkyBet released odds stating Hearn was a -300 favorite to defeat Ellerbe. However, the Matchroom boss has since admitted he can’t fight.

Hearn said the money had to be huge when speaking to FightHub TV regarding the possibility of trading blows with Floyd Mayweather’s right-hand man in a celebrity or exhibition capacity.

“It was a betting company in the UK that put up odds on the fight. I guess we live in a world where these exhibition fights become talked about and become quite big,” Hearn told FightHub TV.

“I made it clear that if I got $10 million for that fight, I would consider it. Obviously, the split would have to be 90/10 because Leonard does like two shows a year, and I do fifty,” he joked.

On his own abilities, Hearn added: “I can’t fight either, really. I don’t know if he can. Probably not.

“I think he can a little bit, but he’s a lot older than me. So it’s a good 50/50 fight, but I don’t think you’re going to see it any time soon.”

Speaking to Brian Custer recently, Ellerbe was asked about his beef with Hearn. He responded with the notion that the Briton is one of a few men he’d like to fight.

“He’s a clown, and everybody knows that. That’s why you just laugh,” said Ellerbe. “I’m not going to go back and forth with him because he knows what time of day it is.

“He knows what it is. He went into something personal, and I gave him a phone call.

“I gave him a phone call a while ago, and he knows what time of day it is. It’s just that. I mean, I don’t want to go back into all of that.

“I try to be as professional as I can possibly be. But he’s the one guy that I can possibly say that if I had the opportunity, I’d stomp him out.”

Hearn vs. Ellerbe? – Probably not.
