Promoter Eddie Hearn has admitted that a “leap of faith” is needed to get a Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua deal over the line in the next few days.
Fury vs. Joshua is on hold despite assurances from Hearn almost weekly that he needs a few more days.
The Canelo event recently took Hearn away from finalization for the most part. However, Hearn is confident he can seal the deal soon.
Joshua was the first to reveal his frustration at how long the deal is taking. Fury wasn’t far behind.
AJ stated: “Spartan.” I’m tired. My fans are tired. Your fans are tired. We’re all tired of the talk. Less talk. More action!”
Fury responded directly: “Come get some then, you big ugly Dosser! You’re no talk, no action!”
EDDIE HEARN
Hearn, feeling the pressure, gave his thoughts on how everyone is feeling.
From what he revealed, somebody involved in the negotiations has to switch stances.
“I saw the tweets from AJ. He’s tired, the fans are tired, and everyone is tired,” Hearn told Sky Sports News.
“We’re in a stage where people are getting frustrated. The deal is done. Now we’re on the finer details of the contract, which came back last Friday.
“It went back last night. They are on calls now in the office about it, and I think at some point, people are going to have to take a little bit of a leap of faith in this deal.
“From our perspective and AJ’s perspective, we’re ready to go. From Tyson Fury’s perspective, they’ve got a couple of lawyers across it from their point.”
Saudi Arabia remains the favorite to host the fight, according to odds from Betfair. This site comes despite dates in June and July falling by the wayside.
August is now a viable date for the clash.
