Just days after World Boxing News put out an article asking ‘What in the world is going on with Deontay Wilder lately?’ – Anthony Joshua has aired his view.
Wilder has been completely silent about his future and the possibility of Tyson Fury walking away from a contracted trilogy.
Fury claims the paperwork for a deal to be done between the pair has expired. Wilder’s co-manager told WBN his man still wants the fight to happen.
As the debate rages on and Fury gets ready for a homecoming in the UK this December, AJ has questioned whether his American rival will now retire.
Discussing the situation, Joshua began by answering that very question WBN asked last week.
“I don’t know, so I can’t speak on everyone’s situation, but just from my humble opinion, after a loss, things change,” Joshua told Sky Sports News.
“You distance yourself. The world is cruel. You’ve got to have thick skin.
“Either he’s putting together a master plan – he’s in a lab right now, with his science glasses on, studying Fury’s every move.
“Either he’s doing that, or he’s sitting at the edge of that lake, with his head in his hands and thinking, ‘What’s going on?’
“One minute you’re on top of the world, and the next minute you’re not. That’s the name of the game we’re in.”
‘The Bronze Bomber’ is obviously getting ready for something. We don’t know what that is yet.
Potentially a comeback fight as legal action is taken against Fury? – Who knows, but WBN is hoping to speak exclusively to Wilder when he is ready.
WBN was promised a chat last month. That didn’t happen. Wilder now has a lot of things to address when he does speak out.
Premier Boxing Champions, who currently represent Wilder, could insist they are first to break the news. A podcast appearance could be in the offing.
Whatever happens with the former WBC heavyweight ruler, the fans, Fury and Joshua, will be the first to know. Watch this space.
