Artur Szpilka expects ‘violent’ Derek Chisora fight: We’re both crazy men!

Rugged Pole Artur Szpilka has warned fans to expect the unexpected when the former world title challenger takes on Derek Chisora.

The pair trade blows on July 20. Chisora v Spilka takes place on the undercard of Dillian Whyte v Oscar Rivas in London.

Known as ‘The Pin’, Szilka has a history of being involved in wild contests. The man who was ahead of the cards until Deontay Wilder pulled out an equalizer expects no different against Chisora.

“I chose this fight because we are both crazy men and it’s going to be a crazy fight!” said Szpilka. “Chisora is a good fighter, he is bull strong and he can box well.

“He turns up to every fight in great condition, so I know it is going to be a tough night for me. We are both warriors who like to fight, this will be violent.

“I’m relishing the opportunity to fight in front of all my UK fans for the first time in career. I know that there is a proud Polish community in London.

“I’m sure they will turn out in their numbers to get behind me on July 20. I hope to be my country’s first Heavyweight World Champion.”

Szpilka (22-3, 15 KOs) is a tricky and awkward 6ft 3.5 southpaw, Hell short in his first attempt to become Poland’s first Heavyweight World Champion when he challenged for Wilder’s WBC crown back in January 2016.

Aside from Wilder, Szpilka’s only other career defeats have come to World level opposition in former World title challenger Bryant Jennings in 2014 and unbeaten contender Adam Kownacki in 2017.

The power puncher from Wieliczka predicting fireworks against ‘WAR’ Chisora is great news for the O2 Arena card.

ALLEN v PRICE

Also featuring on the bill is a British battle between Dave Allen and David Price.

Allen recently made a prediction for the long-awaited bout.

“Put me to sleep or I will slowly, horribly, not even very goodly, beat you up till you can’t stand no more,” quipped Allen.

“I like and respect David price but I want to f***ing win now. Different mindset, different man.”
