Unbeaten Tommy Philbin is hoping to steal the show and give the fans a performance to remember when he fights on Saturday’s huge #MTKFightNight event at the Emirates Arena.
Light-heavyweight star Philbin (12-0, 4 KOs) is part of the stacked card in Glasgow, live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank, and also live on iFL TV.
It sees Philbin make a quick return to the ring following his victory on the World Boxing Super Series undercard last month, and he now plans on keeping that momentum going.
Philbin said: “I’m delighted to be back fighting again so soon. I hadn’t fought for a year before my last fight, and then my fight before that was 10 months earlier, so it’s great to get back to action quickly.
“After I fought on the Saturday in my last fight I was back in the gym on the Wednesday as I knew I had this coming up so I was glad to keep myself ready.
“Initially I wasn’t pleased with my last performance because I was struggling to get going and found it really hard to get my range, but I just put it all down to being out so long. Fans can expect a more relaxed and exciting performance this time around.”
Philbin is part of a massive #MTKFightNight event in Glasgow, with the main event seeing Lee McGregor put his Commonwealth bantamweight title on the line against Scottish rival Scott Allan.
The card also features Kieran Smith defending his WBC International title against Ivan Montero, Lewis Benson taking on Renald Garrido, recent world title challenger Muhammad Waseem facing John Chuwa, plus many more.
