Adrian Martin faces toughest career test on Sept 21

Goodwin Boxing are delighted to announce that 27 year old Adrian Martin moves up to take the biggest test of his career in an English Title Eliminator against the unbeaten Alex McCloy (11-0-1) from Blackpool on 21st September on the Budgen boxing promoted “A Night of Terror” show at York Hall, Bethnal Green.

“I wanted a massive fight” said MARTIN “I know this is make or break for me but I want to know how good I am and this fight will tell me.”

For the winner it is a major step towards the English title. For the loser it will be a long road back.

“I want the whole of Essex to get behind me” Adrian continued “I have a lot of support and now I am going into major fights I hope that the support will just grow and we will take over York Hall on 21st.”

Boxing experts are divided over the outcome of the fight with Martin who has lost only once in 11 contests taking on McCloy who is unbeaten in 12.

“It is a real 50/50 fight” said Martin’s manager Steve Goodwin “but it is the right fight at the right time for Adrian. He has to show what he is made of and I have never seen him so motivated.”

With home advantage at York Hall where the majority of his fights have been Martin will hope that this fight launches him into the big time and will be doing everything in his power to make it happen. For McCloy under the tutelage of Kevin Maree it is a calculated risk for a fight they believe they are going to win.
