The #7 ranked by the WBO at 140 pounds, Jean Carlos “Lobo” Torres will return to the ring on Friday, June 28, defending his WBO Latino title in the next edition of the series “A Puño Limpio”, which will be held at the Ruben Zayas Montañez Coliseum in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, in a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Spartan Boxing.
“Lobo Torres is already recovered from his injury and is training hard to return to the ring against Nicaraguan Julio Laguna in A Puño Limpio,” said promoter Iván Rivera, president of PRBBP.
“In addition we will have in separate bouts the unbeaten Carlos Arrieta and Patrick Cora, as well as six other fights.”
Lobo Torres (15-0, 11 kos) was going to fight last May, but a shoulder injury prevented him to be in action and now he will fight this month against Julio Laguna (15-1, 11 kos), the same opponent he was going to face, at 10 rounds.
For Torres it will be his fifth straight fight at the Rubén Zayas Montañez Coliseum (he had wins there over Travis Castellón, Luis Joel González, Franklin Mamani and Joseph Laryea between 2018 and 2019).
Also, in the co-main event bouts, Carlos Arrieta (9-0, 7 kos) will face the Nicaraguan Martín Díaz (15-9, 6 kos) at 122 pounds and eight rounds.
Meanwhile, Patrick Cora (7-0, 6 kos) will face Carlos García (15-20-1, 12 kos), also at eight rounds, but at 160 lbs. Both Arrieta and Cora come from victories on May 24 over the Argentines Ernesto Franzolini (UD) and Luis Alberto Vera (TKO2), respectively.
More details of this program will be provided soon.
