WBC praise Amir Khan efforts, Canelo v Jacobs for negative drug testing

WBC chiefs have moved to praise Amir Khan and Neeraj Goyat for agreeing on a historic clash, plus Canelo and Danny Jacobs for passing the Clean Boxing Program.

The World Boxing Council and its President, Mauricio Sulaiman, are proud to present a special recognition for the historic card in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on June 24. The fight is between former super lightweight world champion Amir Khan against India`s Neeraj Goyat.

“The best craftsmen are working hard to create this special recognition. They will produce an impressive and invaluable belt that the winner of the fight.

“They can take it home to remember this historic night,” commented Mauricio, adding: “I am truly honored that the WBC is part of this historic event in Saudi Arabia. With a recognition designed for a special occasion of great magnitude.”

Amir Khan, from the United Kingdom, is of Pakistani origin. He has always been a magnificent promoter of culture and boxing in the Middle East.

More than eight years ago he approached our lifetime president, Don José Sulaiman, to plan different activities towards the promotion of sports in this region.

Since then, Amir Khan, has visited several countries in the Middle East. He wants to develop boxing. Also with motivational talks and support the youth of this region.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, has had the opportunity to travel to Pakistan. Reaching important agreements with leaders from that country.

The World Boxing Council congratulates Amir Khan not only for being a great pugilist. But for his commitment as an ambassador of sport and humanity.

It is an honor for the World Boxing Council to present this special recognition. It is intended to recognize a historic step for boxing in this region.


Clean Boxing Program: “Canelo” Alvarez and Danny Jacobs presented negative results on all samples collected

VADA has presented its final report of the anti-doping tests done. As part of the clash between Saul Alvarez and Danny Jacobs on May 4, involving the Clean Boxing Program.

From all samples collected, both fighters had negative results.

We want to thank them both and their respective teams for their willingness to sign up for the Clean Boxing Program and to show that both are exemplary athletes who testify to their honesty and commitment concerning boxing.

Congratulations to both fighters, who offered us an exciting and magnificent action-packed fight, also proving that to be the best, you do not need to use any substance to enhance performance just talent, discipline and willpower.
