Oscar De La Hoya 19th Golf Classic raises thousands for charity

The Oscar De La Hoya Foundation hosted its 19th annual Golf Classic today at the Lakeside Golf Club to raise funds to help support programs that will benefit the youth and community of East Los Angeles.

Celebrities such as Micheal Peña joined De La Hoya at Lakeside Golf Club for a day of fun competition on the green.

The Foundation annually hosts a boxing gym equipment donation, Thanksgiving dinner giveaway and holiday toy giveaway in addition to supporting the Oscar De La Hoya Ánimo Charter High School, the Cecilia Gonzalez De La Hoya Cancer Center and the Oscar De La Hoya Labor and Delivery Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (both located at White Memorial Hospital in East Los Angeles).

“We are raising more and more money every year,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. “We have great relationships with our partners and sponsors that help us give back to the community. The money raised will help more kids receive scholarships at ODLH High School and free mammograms at white memorial hospital.

“When I stared my foundation, it was personal for me because of where I grew up. I’m privileged and happy to be in this position. To give back is awesome and it makes me proud to have family, friends and sponsors that have helped make this happen for a good cause.”

The 19th Annual Oscar De La Hoya Foundation Golf Classic was sponsored by DAZN, Tecate, T-Mobile Arena, Barry’s Tickets, CMFA, Adventist Health White Memorial, WBO, National Funding, Inc., WBC, Key Code Media, DG Entertainment, Chapman, Bird & Tessler, Barker Pacific Clear Channel, Fantasy Springs Casino, Merrill Lynch, Travis Mathew, USI Insurance Services, and Fox Deportes.
