MTK Global is proud to announce the signing of powerful Belfast cruiserweight Damien ‘Dee’ Sullivan as he turns professional.
Sullivan won Ulster Elite titles at both heavyweight and super-heavyweight and reached the Commonwealth Games quarter-finals on the Gold Coast last year.
Sullivan said: “I chose MTK Global because they are doing class things with their boxers. It’s a big platform and it seems like they always put the boxers’ needs first.
“It’s a really hard game without having to worry about all that sort of stuff and I know MTK Global are handling things really well.
“I’ll wear my heart on my sleeve. I’ll give my everything in there. I’m a warrior and fighting is all I’ve ever been good at so I’ll always come to fight.
“I feel I’m more suited for the professional ranks because with a few more rounds, I could’ve got the job done at the Commonwealth Games when I fought the eventual silver medalist.
“Belfast is a small place but it has a proud boxing history. Fighters like Michael Conlan, Carl Frampton, Sean McComb, Paddy Barnes and Steven Donnelly are gaining exposure all over the world.”
MTK Global Professional Development Coordinator Jamie Conlan said: “We’re delighted to be bringing another Belfast boxer of proven class on to our flourishing team.
“I’ve always enjoyed watching ‘Dee’ fight and I’m confident fans of professional boxing will do too because he’s all-action.
“It’s another significant move and we’re building something special for boxing in Belfast, Ireland and across the world. I know ‘Dee’ is looking forward to playing a part in that and his debut is not to be missed.”
Confirmation of Sullivan’s debut assignment will be forthcoming shortly.
