Steve Collins Jr has revealed plans to drop down to super-middleweight to test his skills in that division – but first is fully focused on competing in Belfast this Friday.
Collins Jr (13-2-1) fights live on iFL TV on a packed bill at the Ulster Hall. His fight this weekend takes place at light-heavyweight, with a run in the 168-pound weight class then firmly in his sights.
Collins Jr said: “I think I’m going to go down to super-middleweight after this fight. I’m looking forward to testing my skills in that weight class, but first things first I’ve got this bout on Friday.
“I’m excited to be fighting again. I’d get in the ring every weekend if I could, so I’m looking forward to getting in there and getting the juices flowing.
“It’s great to be on the card with plenty of good fighters on the bill, and it’s going to bring a great crowd and a brilliant atmosphere to the Ulster Hall.”
This Friday’s bill at the Ulster Hall sees Conrad Cummings defend his WBO European middleweight title in a rematch against Luke Keeler.
The likes of Tyrone McKenna, Tyrone McCullagh, Steven Ward, Padraig McCrory, Steven Donnelly, Sean McComb and many more are also in action on a stacked show.
