Nine-fight card accompanies Rocky Martinez return this weekend

With nine fights the next edition of “A Puño Limpio” is set, featuring former world champion Román “Rocky” Martínez, Jeyvier Cintrón and Luis “Popeye” Lebrón this Friday, March 29, at the Coliseo Rubén Zayas Montañez de Trujillo Alto in a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Spartan Boxing.

“In addition to the Rocky (Martinez), Jeyvier (Cintron) and Popeye (Lebrón) bouts we will present six four round bouts with prospects from the Island, a women’s fight and the heavyweight prospect from Virgin Islands, Clayton Laurent Jr. in this A Puño Limpio,” said promoter Iván Rivera, president of PRBBP.

Laurent Jr. (3-0, 2 kos), trained by former world champion at 154 and 160 pounds, Julian Jackson, will fight against an opponent that will be announced in a four rounds battle. This will be the second fight in Puerto Rico for Laurent Jr., who beat Kenny Cruz last December.

The rest of the card will have four-round bouts with women Ariana Pagán (debutant) and Amarylis Adorno (1-7) measuring at 108 pounds, while Raymond Roig Méndez (2-1) will face an opponent to be determined at 112 pounds , Alfredo “Salsero” Cruz (3-0, 2 kos) will face Alexis Diaz (2-22) at 115 pounds, Adrián Martínez (2-2, 1 kos) will face Jorge Santiago (1-1, 1 kos) ) at 140 pounds and Nelson Pastrana will debut against Eugene Alvelo (0-3) at 160 pounds.

The main bouts of the night will be between the former three-time WBO champion at 130 pounds, Rocky Martinez (29-3-3, 17 kos), and the Hungarian Adam Mate (28-14, 21 kos) at 10 rounds and at 135 pounds, the two-time Puerto Rican Olympian and WBO Latino champion at 115 pounds, Jeyvier Cintron (9-0, 4 KOs), against Nicaraguan Eliecer Quezada (22-8-3, 4 kos) at 115 pounds and 10 rounds, and the WBO Latino at 126 pounds, Popeye Lebrón (15-0-1, 8 kos) against Nicaraguan Aron Juárez (13-6-3, 3 kos) in a weight of 122 pounds at 10 rounds.
