Injuries behind him, David Brophy is ready to go again

RINGSIDE 21/03/2019

David Brophy has revealed he’s enjoying boxing again overcoming a string of injuries ahead of his return to the ring on Friday.

Former Commonwealth champion Brophy (21-2-1) is set to face Vladimir Belujsky at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow live on iFL TV, and he’s glad to be back firing on all cylinders.

Brophy said: “I’ve had a lot of injuries recently and it’s been frustrating because you feel pretty hopeless. When you can’t train or fight you feel useless, so it’s good to be injury free again. A happy fighter is a fighter that’s training all the time, and I’m now doing that again.

“Touch wood there won’t be any more injuries any time soon, and I can just focus on training and fighting. I’m looking to keep fighting on these regular MTK Global shows, and I hope it can be a big year where I get some titles back around my waist.”

Friday’s bill in Glasgow live on iFL TV features a number of Scottish stars, including Kieran Smith, Iain Butcher, Lewis Benson, Michael McGurk, Reece McFadden, Jack Turner and many more.
