A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Freedom Eubank for failure to appear in court on Monday.
The 28 year-old boxer, who is the cousin of IBO super-middleweight champion Chris Jr, claimed a dose of diarrhoea was to blame.
Despite the excuse, the judge at Lewes Crown Court acted following the passing of a deadline to show up.
It’s expected Eubank will now lose his liberty due to a charge of dangerous driving.
Eubank was initially traffic stopped by Sussex Police on December 1st. He denied any wrongdoing last month at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
Unless Eubank can provide evidence of illness from a doctor, the situation won’t go in his favor.
Freedom, like Chris and other family members, is a keen pugilist. As a result, he scored a spectacular knockout in 2017.
(WBN – June 21, 2017) – Chris Eubank Jr. unveiled a new member of the team this week. The British star shared a video of his cousin proving power runs in the family.
The 27 year-old posted the clip of Freedom Eubank obliterating his recent opponent. This came as Junior prepares for his own imminent clash with Arthur Abraham.
Freedom is not the only blood relative making his own way in the sport. Super-lightweight Nathaniel Wilson nears the fifth appearance of his undefeated career next month.
Eubank puts his own IBO super-middleweight crown on the line againt two-weight world champion Abraham, from Germany in London on July 15.
Judging by the ferocity shown by Freedom, the Eubank’s could have another interesting story to tell in the UK boxing ranks.
FIGHTING FAMILY
Chris Jr. and Freedom are joined by Harlem, Seb and Nathaniel Wilson, all of whom have been competing regularly of late.
Dropping and defeating James DeGale last month, Chris Jr. is by far the most well-known. At 29, he stands on the cusp of big things.
Re-claiming his old IBO strap at the O2 Arena, Chris Jr is a certified Pay-Per-View fighter in the UK.
Furthermore, linking with US handler Al Haymon, Eubank is now being lined up for some massive fights.
