Excitement for the MTK Box Cup continues to grow, with nearly 600 boxers confirmed to be taking part with just over a month to go until the prestigious event takes place.
The highly-anticipated tournament takes place between April 18-21 at Penrith Leisure Centre in Cumbria, and has attracted interest from all around the world.
MTK Box Cup organiser Steve Sharkey said: “All entries are now closed and we’re full to capacity a good month ahead of schedule which is superb. We’ve had interest from all corners of the globe to come to the tournament.
“There are clubs entering from Spain, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Italy and as far as Australia, so the reach that the tournament has taken throughout the amateur boxing scene is phenomenal.
“Tickets are flying out for the tournament and it’s going to be a brilliant weekend. There will be three rings in action over three days, and boxing will start at 9:30am each morning.
“Everybody competing is working hard in the gym, and we have got many returning champions coming back. It’s all systems go and we’re all working hard behind the scenes making sure everything is addressed properly.”
