Three Faces of Papi 3:16 – When Dave Allen met WWE legend Mick Foley

British heavyweight Dave Allen began preparations for his O2 headliner on April 20 by sharing screen time with World Wrestling Entertainment legend Mick Foley.

Donning the famous outfits Foley has sported during his lengthy ring career, Allen filmed a segment for an upcoming feature on Sky Sports.

Dude Love, Cactus Jack and his most famous face of Mankind were on show as Allen met one of his childhood heroes in Foley.

A massive fans of WWE, Allen already has a line of t-shirts in homage to Stone Cold Steve Austin (Allen 3:16) – one of his idols.

It’s safe to say Allen firmly got into the spirit of the day.

Allen steps up for the fight of his life in London next month when ‘The Doncaster De La Hoya’ squares off against Australian brute Lucas Browne.

‘The White Rhino’ has a job to do. And with victory, could be set for another huge step-up later in the year.

Sharing top billing with Derek Chisora, it’s not out of the realms of possibility that the pair could then trade blows with a title shot of some sort at stake.

Already missing out narrowly on the Commonwealth strap, Allen v Chisora for that same belt in 2019 would certainly please the vast majority of UK fans.

First of all, the 26 year-old must add to his 16 victories. Allen needs to prove he can compete at a higher level. And not just take higher level opponents rounds.

Losses to Lenroy Thomas and Dillian Whyte went the full distance. Whilst Tony Yoka took Allen out in the final round of ten.

Luis Ortiz was taken seven rounds by Allen, whose best victory remains a first round demolition of Nick Webb.

FAVORITE

Due to his likeability and marketability, Allen has a big purpose in the Matchroom stable. Add to that the fact that Eddie Hearn knows he has a fan favorite on his hands.

It all adds up to Allen being pushed as far as he can go in the top division ranks. With a knockout of Browne the first step on the ladder to bigger nights to come.

Looking in tremendous shape already, Allen is taking ‘Big Daddy’ as serious as it gets in preparation for what could be an explosive encounter.
