Unbeaten Kieron Conway plans on silencing some of the doubters when he fights Gabor Gorbics at the East of England Arena in Peterborough on Saturday.
Conway (9-0) heads into the fight on the back of a win over his MTK Global stablemate Gino Kanters in September, and he wants to put in a performance this weekend that puts the rest of the super-welterweight division on notice.
He said: “I’m excited to get back in the ring as it feels like forever since I’ve been in there.
“My last win in September was a good name on my record, but it wasn’t the best performance, so I’m going out to put that right and take some doubts out of everybody’s heads about me.
“The domestic scene at super-welterweight is one of the best in the country. It’s populated with high talent and I see myself as one of the top boys in there.
“I’ve got to keep winning and prove what I know through good performances over and over again.
“I don’t need to call people out, I’ll just take it one step at a time and when the time is right I’ll take them out one by one. I want to progress at a decent speed, but it needs to be the right way.
“At the end of 2019 I want to have some sort of belt around my waist, so hopefully something at either super-welterweight or middleweight can happen.”
