Champion Lee Noble receives touching letter from World Boxing Council

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman sent a touching letter to Lee Noble as the British fighter continues his cancer struggle.

Noble, a former English title challenger, is facing his toughest battle to date after being told be doctors the outcome was bleak.

Over four years on from first being diagnosed, Noble gave an update on his condition earlier this month.

“After seeing my doctor today we’ve finally been told the news me and my family were dreading,” explained Noble. “The cancer has returned in my brain and bone marrow. The cancer is (also) terminal.

“I won’t stop fighting till my final breath. Thanks for everyone’s support, especially my fiancée an family,” he added.

Sulaiman heard the news and quickly sent Noble a message of support. Along with a promise to make the Yorkshireman an honorary WBC champion.

“I just read your post @nobleboxer and I want to express my most sincere respect to you. Lee, you have a real boxer’s spirit by never giving up and fighting back.

Because of that, you are now honorary WBC World Champion and we will be sending you a kit. Please send info by DM.”

Upon receiving his letter from the WBC office on Thursday, Noble informed Sulaiman of his appreciation at the gesture.

“This has really cheered thanks for the t-shirts and @WBCBoxing belt. Special big thanks to @wbcmoro,” said Noble.

Champ, keep working hard, We are many in your corner and you are not alone. You inspire us! God bless, make us proud!”

Adding further, Sulaiman replied: @nobleboxer Lee Noble is the @WBCBoxing honorary champion.

“God bless you champ. Keep working hard, you are a true warrior. You make us proud!”
