Jarrell Miller’s co-promoter Dmitriy Salita has backed Jarrell Miller to join Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe as New York’s finest.

‘Big Baby’ challenges Anthony Joshua for the heavyweight crown this summer and Salita is sure an upset is on the cards.

“On June 1 Brooklyn’s Jarrell Miller will fight in the World’s greatest city for boxing’s greatest title. The Heavyweight Championship of the World on boxing’s biggest stage, ‘The Mecca of Boxing’ Madison Square Garden,” said Salita.

“It is a dream come true for Jarrell. But it is exactly what we envisioned. It’s what I promised him when I began working with Jarrell in his second professional fight.

“He is on the verge of making history. I am proud to have been there since the beginning.

“On June 1 Jarrell will follow in the footsteps of Brooklyn Heavyweight greats Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe to bring the Heavyweight World title back to its rightful home NY.”

Tyson and Bowe have gone down in ‘Big Apple’ folklore for their efforts during a peak era for the top division back in the 90’s.

‘Iron’ Mike missed a large chunk of Bowe’s rise to the top following a prison sentence. ‘Big Daddy’ enjoyed some amazing battles with Evander Holyfield.

During the 1980’s, Tyson was the number one for almost half a decade until running into the infamous James ‘Buster’ Douglas in Tokyo.

For Bowe, his career took a battering when he decided to vacate the WBC belt rather than facing Lennox Lewis.

Both remain two of the best heavyweights of the modern era despite the question marks next to their names.
