Jack Massey reckons he can add to Anthony Joshua’s problems by bursting Lawrence Okolie’s bubble.
Joshua has steered Okolie (📸 Lawrence Lustig) to the British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles in just 10 fights and the gangly Londoner looks to make it 11 out of 11 at the O2 Arena on Saturday.
In the build up, Okolie has had some back-and-forth banter with Massey on social media.
Massey is a 15-0 (8) contender from Derbyshire who believes 2019 will be his year. He fights in Blackburn on manager Kevin Maree’s show on Saturday, March 30 and provided he wins, Massey should then go on to box for the WBO European title.
The 25 year old hopes a fight with Okolie could happen in the future – and says he knows how to beat the 2016 Rio Olympian.
“I’ve been trying to get big fights,” said Massey, “and though I’m not usually in that sort of thing, I thought I would have some banter with Lawrence and see what happens !
“I know he’s awkward, with big, long arms, but he’s gun shy, scared to get hit. He lets his hands go and then he holds. He stops you fighting.
“He’s horrible and you can see why nobody wants to fight him, but I can see how I would beat him.
“People have been trying to box him, but you can’t stand off him and let those big, long arms go.
