A massive fight between Joshua and Wilder fell apart this week when the Briton pulled out of talks to focus on fighting Alexander Povetkin instead.
Despite being offered a whopping $50m to face Wilder in the United States, Joshua opted to negotiate a UK deal before Hearn sent a contract missing key points like a date and venue.
To add to that Wilder revealed a rematch clause was only inserted for Joshua, which would have left ‘The Bronze Bomber’ high and dry if he lost his WBC strap.
Fury, who is one fight into his comeback from a 31 month absence, gave his comments as he continues to prepare for a return to action on August 18 in Belfast.
“It’s a very complicated situation, or at least they’re trying to make it that way,” said Fury via his Instagram.
“Joshua and his team have been offered $50million, which is about £38m. A huge offer to fight anybody. You (could) offer (Joshua) any money to fight Wilder (but) they’re afraid of him.
“Wilder is all wrong for Joshua and Eddie Hearn knows that. I think it’ll happen but Joshua will have to a couple more fights to make a few quid while he can then he’ll (Eddie Hearn) do the fight.”
In the wake of the fight being called off completely, Wilder gave his side on Tuesday evening.
“It was simple, the two things were simple. How can you send a contract to anybody when you don’t have no date on there?
“Nor do you have a venue up in there. He’s sending the contract saying ‘Just sign it’,” Wilder told Tha Boxing Voice Podcast.
“Another thing that was up in there was talking about if I beat Joshua he gets a rematch, but if he beats me then it’s up to him to decide if there was a rematch.
“Nah, it’s either going to (be a rematch clause for both] or none at all. There is going to a rematch or no rematch at all. It’s crazy. ‘How you going to send a contract like that?
“It was simple things that they could not answer. It ain’t that they couldn’t, it’s that they wouldn’t. They didn’t want to because they don’t want this fight.”
