Vasyl Lomachenko, Gervonta Davis animosity rumbles on

The running feud between Vasyl Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis continues to rumble on.

Consistently linked to a massive fight in the future, ‘Loma’ and Davis have been public in their dislike of each other.

On the back of unifying the lightweight division with a points win over Pedraza, Lomachenko was asked to compare when making an appearance on Sirius XM Boxing Radio.

“You can’t compare me and Pedraza and Gervonta Davis and Pedraza. It was a different weight class.

“Gervonta Davis fought with him at 130. Nobody knows how Pedraza can make weight at 130. We don’t know his physical condition in that fight. We don’t know how he prepared for that fight.

“But as you see, for the fight with me, he prepared very well. He was ready. It was very interesting.”

[responding to Randy Gordon saying that if Pedraza trained for Gervonta as he did for Loma that he would have beaten Davis]

“I think. Because in that fight with me, Pedraza was very focused all fight. In the fight with Gervonta Davis, he loses his physical condition and his breath.

“I think he believed that he could make a strong punch for Gervonta Davis, and he forgets about his defense.”

Listen to Vasyl Lomachenko on his win over Jose Pedraza vs. Gervonta Davis’ win over Pedraza:

Davis wasted little time giving his response to what he clearly sees as excuses by Lomachenko.

Having won titles at featherweight and super-featherweight, Davis is expected to make a move up to 135 soon.

Facing off with Lomachenko would be a huge spectacle and give both fighters the chance to put the animosity to bed.

As the Ukrainian is hell-bent on claiming all of the belts, Davis may need to get to his hands on the currently vacant IBF strap to entice Lomachenko.

Richard Commey and Isa Chanlev are expected to battle it out for the strap in February, with Davis and Lomchenko sure to be interested in the winner.
