Oleksandr Usyk is being backed at 6/4 to take his next fight in the heavyweight division and face Dillian Whyte, following his powerful eighth round knockout victory over Tony Bellew on Saturday night.
The Ukrainian puncher provided a conclusive finish to his 16th victory at cruiserweight and the leading online bookmaker is now tipping him to chase a glamour tie in the weight division above.
Whyte is a very strong favourite to be Usyk’s next opponent at 6/4, while American Jarrell Miller and Russian Alexander Povetkin hold outside chances at 9/2 and 5/1 respectively.
Three-belt world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is 10/1 to share the ring with Usyk next.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Oleksandr Usyk could be about to add some extra venom to the heavyweight division, starting with a fight against Dillian Whyte who is 6/4 to be the Ukranian’s next opponent.
“Going up a division is no easy task, but Usyk looks to have the build and the strength to compete with the world’s biggest boxers. Anthony Joshua is a long-shot to be Usyk’s next fight at 10/1,
though it would be no surprise to see him challenged for his belts by the undefeated cruiserweight in the near future.”
