Results from Lakefront Arena, New Orleans

Ivan Baranchyk produced a shuddering display to capture the vacant IBF super-lightweight title.

‘The Beast’ was relentless in his stalking of Anthony Yigit to advance to the World Boxing Super Series semi-finals.

Baranchyk caused damage to Yigit’s left eye early on, which eventually worsened with each passing round.

With Baranchyk taking the rounds on sheer strength and dominance, it was hard to see why Yigit would be allowed to continue.

That proved to be the case after seven completed rounds as Yigit was pulled out with a brutally rounded eye.

In a farcical ending, Subriel Matias was declared the winner against Fernando David Saucedo in the very first round.

Matias put Saucedo down twice before the Argentinian’s corner decide to jump on the ring apron.

The referee saw this as a clear violation and decided to disqualify Saucedo immediately. Bemused, Matias took the victory and improved to 12-0.

Heavyweight Jonathon Guidry punished Quincy Palmer on the ropes for a devastating first round KO.

Palmer was stunned and defenseless from an initial barrage, but without the referee stepping in, Guidry was allowed to pummel his man three more times.

At the lightweight limit, Jonathan Montrel won a four round decision over Antonio Wattell. Montrel is now 2-0.

In the opener over four rounds at lightweight, Iliyan Kolev made a successful pro debut.

The New Orleans-based Bulgarian saw out a points victory over Antonio Hernandez. Scores were 40-35 and 39-36 x2.

Following up Kolev’s triumph was Jeremy Hill in his fifth pro contest.

The lightweight dropped Brandon Arvie three times during their four-rounder before inevitably getting the decision.
