Fury says ‘the Tyson who beat Klitschko is dead’, brands Joshua a ‘pussy’

Tyson Fury couldn’t resist having another dig at Anthony Joshua at a press gathering in Los Angeles.

Asked to describe his biggest UK rival in one word, Fury labeled the heavyweight champion ‘a pussy’ to the media.

The 30 year-old is currently lock in camp at Big Bear preparing to face Deontay Wilder for the WBC title.

Joshua had previously rejected the chance to battle Wilder in an undisputed unification, leading to Fury stepping into the breach.

Fury is now ready to bring back the glory days following his triumph over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

“The two best heavyweights with balls like King Kong are going to fight on December 1,” said Fury.

“The winner is the man. Him, that other guy (Joshua) and his promoter, they had their opportunity.

“The Tyson who beat Klitschko is dead and gone, that was years ago, I don’t live in the past. What happened yesterday is history.”

THE SUMMIT

On his experiences in training at The Summit Gym, Fury added: “Training at altitude has been very hard. The air is thin and it’s hard to breathe.

“I came over here and I was already very fit, I could fight 12 rounds on the pads, no problem. Here, I am tired after three or four rounds.

“I was feeling very tired in the gym and I was speaking to Lennox Lewis on the phone – he told me he got out of there after a week.

“He said he hated it and it was too hard. I went to sea level, and I was very fit,” explained Fury.

With a rematch clause in the contract, Wilder and Fury could be set to enjoy back-to-back fights dependent on the result of December 1’s clash.

It’s no secret that Fury would love a UK return with Wilder, but needs to shock the world once again in order to seal the deal.

Wilder begins a slight favorite to beat Fury on the back of amassing a standout 40-0, 39 KO record.

For Joshua, the prospect of a second fight with Dillian Whyte, whom he knocked out previously in 2015, looms large for April 13.
