At Fenway Park on Thursday afternoon, the boxing world saw a preview of what will prove to be a fully stacked Oct. 20 Matchroom Boxing USA fight night at the TD Garden Arena with three title clashes on the main card, including headliner Demetrius Andrade against Walter Kautondokwa for the vacant WBO Middleweight Title. In a press conference, Saturday night’s fighters gathered to discuss their preparation and predictions ahead of the big night – which will be broadcasted exclusively on DAZN.
“I’m confident in myself and my abilities and everything that this training camp and this training team has put me through to be prepared to fight whoever comes my way. When we get in there, we’ll make the proper adjustments that we need to get that belt.”
“I do appreciate Walter taking this last-minute. End of the day, I would have had to get into the ring with Walter. He’s here for a reason. He’s definitely not stopping this train though.”
“I know where the hunger is. I know what you need to prevail. Boston Red Sox, they’re doing a great job right now. The Patriots, Bruins, Celtics…now it’s Demetrius Andrade’s time.”
“I’m really happy to be here and thank god for the opportunity that I get to fight for the world title.”
On if he can win: “Saturday, I’m going to do what I always do. The world championship is going to Namibia.”
“When you want to be a world champion, you want to come and give it your best. I know Saturday night, he’s going to come and try to take me out of there…but I’m ready.”
On his 20-week training camp: “I’m ready. I’m coming in shape. And if they think they’re going to walk through me, they got another thing coming.”
On Tennyson’s power: “I’m not worried about nobody’s power. The skills pay the bills. Everybody that I fought was supposed to be a harder puncher than me…but they always find themselves being backed up.”
“I’m here. I’m ready to go. I’m ready to get the job done.”
On Tevin being a tough opponent: “Ya, no doubt. The guy’s got skills. He’s a really good operator. I’m expecting a tough night and he’s going to be a tricky opponent but I’m prepared.”
“Toka comes from a good mature pedigree. He’s a good southpaw. He’s not great at anything but he does everything well.”
“Saturday night, I’m going to go in there, do what I do, figure him out, give him a round or two, and then you know, put him to sleep.”

“Camp went great. I had opportunity to work with tremendous fighters, world champions, Olympians. We didn’t cut any corners.
This is a big opportunity for me, my team, my camp. We know what this means and we prepared very hard.”
On Kid Galahad: “He’s undefeated, he comes to fight, he’s a good boxer. My camp, we went over everything. We prepared. Come fight, we’re just going to put in the work. We know what we have to do. We’re prepared to go the distance. And if it goes the distance, we know we’re going to be ready for that.”
“Boston is going to be a home away from home. There’s obviously a lot of Irish fighters on the card. I can’t wait.”
On Cindy: “She’s obviously very experienced. She’s a top seasoned pro. These are the types of fights that I absolutely relish. This is why I turned pro two years ago, to be involved in fights like this. I had a great training camp and feel in great shape.”
“It’s a great time for women’s boxing. There’s plenty of great fights out there. There’s definitely no shortage of fights in our flyweight division, which is fantastic for myself.”
“This is what opportunities are for. We are two great females. Females don’t get a lot of recognition so we said let’s do it. You got the best with the best and let the best woman win. Female fighting is where it’s at. We fight, we fight hard, and a lot of us fight for sills, we’re entertaining, and end of the day, we are beautiful.”
“Styles make fights. Katie hasn’t fought anyone that has my style. We’re ready, we’re training hard. I’m in great shape, I’m excited for the fight, I’m hyped, I’m amped. And hopefully, may the best woman win. It’s definitely going to be an entertaining fight – for all ten rounds.”
