Brook: Khan fight should be catchweight, he had to take his underpants off!

Kell Brook has urged Amir Khan to agree a catchweight for a blockbuster fight after rejecting any notion of a rehydration clause.

‘The Special One’ reacted to Khan statements on a ten-pound clause in the contract, although Brook recalled how the Bolton man weighed in for his recent clash with Samuel Vargas.

“I’m looking to get my weight down and have a warm-up fight, a good fight in December but I’m looking for a massive fight in 2019,” Khan told Sky Sports ringside for Lewis Ritson v Francesco Patera.

“We want the Khan fight because he’s robbing the British public.

“World fans are interested in this fight, everybody is interested in this fight. He’s trying to change the goalposts. He wants me to make 147, and that would kill me as it is.

“But he doesn’t want me to eat or drink. He wants me to tie my hands behind my back and go on my knees. He wants all these things. He’s conning everyone.

“We want this fight and this is the fight the world needs to see.

WEIGHT

“I can make 147 but he’s saying I can only have so many drinks, and this and that.

“Once you make weight, it’s time to fight. There is no world title on the line, it’s the Battle of Britain, it’s me against Khan.

“It shouldn’t even be about 147. He had to take his underpants off to make 147 last time. It should be a catchweight really. There’s no world title on the line.

“But even though he knows it will drain and kill me. But all I have to do is land on his chin and it’s game over.”

On a rehydration clause, Brook concluded: “Absolutely not. It’s about making 147 and relaxing.”

Talks of Khan v Brook happening in the late spring are ongoing, whilst Manny Pacquiao is also a target for both.
