Much-loved heavyweight Dave Allen halted Samir Nebo with a vicious hook to the body in what was a fantastic display.

‘The White Rhino’ came out to a rapturous reception, and he didn’t disappoint the excited crowd.

The normal slow-starter, started anything but. He came out throwing with mean intentions. And with one-minute down on the clock, he threw a left hook to Nebo’s body. The punch curled the German-based Syrian fighter to the ground.

Nebo couldn’t make it back to his feet, handing Allen a very important win and potentially setting up a possible Lucas Browne bout at the end of the year.

Hard-hitting Craig Glover stopped Simon Vallily in the eighth round of a vicious cruiserweight contest.

Vallily has a history of ill-tempered bouts and this was no different.

The Middlesbrough fighter taunted and goaded Glover all fight, and to the Liverpudlians’ credit, he didn’t rise to the bait.

In the first stanza, Glover scored a flash-knockdown of Vallily after the Commonwealth gold medallist got complacent.

Referee Howard Foster had to continually warn Vallily for talking during the bout. And he lost his patience with the Teeside man when he went in with his head in the fifth, deducting him a point.

Glover had the best of most of the rounds, landing heavy blows to head and body, and in the eighth Glover sensed an opportunity to put the contest to an end.

He rocked Vallily with a big right hand and with his opponent weak and on the ropes, he landed a succession of concussive shots forcing the referee to jump in and put a halt to the fight.

Liverpool’s Anthony Fowler stopped the durable Hungarian Gabor Gorbics in five rounds to keep his perfect professional record intact.

It wasn’t easy work for Fowler, who had to hunt the retreating Hungarian fighter for the majority of the contest.

Gorbics did manage to maintain a tight defence, restricting the amount of damage he was taking. But in the fifth the hard-hitting super welterweight caught up with him.

The Commonwealth gold medalist caught Gorbics with a flurry of hard shots sending him clattering to the floor.

The game Gorbics did attempt to climb to his feet, but barely beat the count and referee Steve Gray waved the contest off with the Hungarian’s corner ready to step in.

The win moves ‘The Machine’ to 8-0, 7 KO’s and he will be targeting tougher domestics tests at the end of this year.

QUICK

Following Fowler, John Docherty made a blistering start to his professional career with 18-second stoppage of the unbeaten Jordan Latimer.

The former Team GB fighter came out at a blistering pace, dropping Latimer with a succession of hard blows.

Latimer fell to his knees and appeared to signal for his corner to throw the towel in who duly obliged.

The win marked a brilliant start to the pro career of the Tony Sims trained fighter.

Thomas Patrick Ward demolished his German opponent Tom Tran in the first round of a scheduled six with a bludgeoning body-shot.

The win moves Ward to 25-0 and now the world ranked super bantamweight is targeting world honours next year.

Tran did come out to fight, only to his detriment. He opted to exchange leather with Ward, resulting in him being knocked down with a solid hook to the head from the local fighter.

Tran rose to his feet, only to be trapped in the corner which resulted in him being crumpled to the floor with a monstrous body-shot.

Ward signalled to the crowd that his opponent wouldn’t beat the 10 count – and he was right.

It was a satisfying performance for the reigning British super bantamweight, who will move on to bigger and better things next year.

Lawrence Osueke comfortably outpointed Ghanaian veteran Charles Adamu over six rounds to move to 7-0 (1ko).

It was a comfortable win for Osueke, who used his superior timing and reach to keep Adamu at bay.

Adamu’s head constantly sprayed sweat as the younger man’s jab found the target.

The 41-year-old Arfican did try to make it difficult for the former Team GB member by rushing in and throwing messy combos.

But Osueke’s boxing ability saw him take the win with the sole score of 60-54.

FLOAT

In a floater between Facebook and Sky Sports coverage, Terry Wilkinson was made to work hard for his third professional victory against journeyman Chris Adaway.

The Newcastle fighter made a good start to the contest with a first round knockdown. But Adaway worked his way into the contest in the latter stages as the local fighter faded.

Despite taking a few unnecessary shots in the penultimate round, Wilkinson took the decision on Steve Gray’s scorecard, winning 40-35.

In the opening exchanges, Hosea Burton blasted out Sadou Sall in one, whilst Chad Ellis made tough work of Angel Emilov to preserve his perfect run.
