Former World Boxing Council welterweight champion and actor Victor Ortiz has been charged with rape.

The 31 year-old star of ‘The Expendables 3’ and ex-Floyd Mayweather opponent was arrested by California police this week. The situation unfolds just days away from Ortiz’s return to the boxing ring.

‘Vicious’ is due to trade blows with John Molina Jr. at the  Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario on Sunday. It’s not known whether the fight will go ahead as planned.

A warrant was issued earlier this week after a complaint was made by a woman in March. The victim states Ortiz sexually assaulted her.

Ventura County Superior Court records revealed details of the charges. They consist of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and forcible digital penetration.

It was noted that Ortiz turned himself into police.

Ortiz was accused of roughhouse tactics by Mayweather early in the contest. When attempting to shake the former pound for pound king’s hand following an accidental clash, the Californian was duly knocked out.

More is due to be revealed by the PBC on the status of the fight soon, whilst Molina may not have time to draft in a replacement.

Molina holds a C.V of 30-7 and has been victorious in three of his last six.

If found guilty, Ortiz faces a long jail sentence.
