Ridhwan v Ambunda final press conference round-up

RINGSIDE 25/09/2018

Ringstar Boxing, Asia’s fastest growing sports media property, just had its official press conference at Marina Bay Sands, days before the highly anticipated bout, ‘Roar of Singapore V – The Kings of Lion City’, set to take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the same venue.

Founder & CEO Scott Farrell says, “This is gonna be an amazing show. There are a lot of undefeated fighters in this fight card. This is one of the best fight cards put together in Asia. It is Asia vs. Africa on the evening of the 29th of September, here at Marina Bay Sands. You will then see what Ringstar is about, and after this Saturday, you would want to see more, and more of it.”

Headlining ‘Kings of Lion City’ is undefeated Singaporean boxer Muhamad “The Chosen Wan” Ridhwan, (11-0), who will now get his world title shot when he enters the ring, and squares off against 38-year old Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda, (26-2), who hails from Namibia.

At stake for both boxers is the IBO World Super Bantamweight title.

Ridhwan, who is currently the IBO Intercontinental Featherweight champion, says, “He’s a good fighter. He’s tough, but he’s just tough. There are many levels to the game, and you need more than toughness to excel. It’s gonna be a great night on Saturday night. I have prepared very well, and trained very hard for this fight.”

While Ambunda, who was formerly the WBO World Bantamweight champion, and a 2x former IBO World Super Bantamweight champion, says, “I’m ready, I’ve been training hard for this. We are not tourists here. We didn’t come for a holiday. I will show you what I have been preparing for.”

Filipino IBO World Bantamweight champion Michael “Gloves on Fire” Dasmarinas, with a current record of 28-2, will also see action, in a non-title bout, against Manyo “Black Flash” Plange, from Ghana. Thirty-year old Plange is currently undefeated, with a record of 17-0.

According to Dasmarinas, “All I can say is that, my opponent thinks he can beat me. But he will have a hard time. I prepared for this fight. I came prepared, I came to win. I’ve always been underestimated, but I’ve always proven myself to be the better boxer.”

Malaysia’s IBO Oceania Welterweight Champion Keng “The Mean Machine” Fai, (4-0), is set to face Thailand’s Wachirasak Waiyawong (4-1).

While another Malaysian, 28-year old Mirage “Miracle Mirage” Khan, (8-2), currently WBC Asia Continental Light Heavyweight Champion, will square off against 19-year old Thai boxer, and Thai Middleweight champion, Nattawut Masamin, (7-3).
