Danny Garcia v Shawn Porter – Results from Barclays Center, New York, USA

America-based Pole Adam Kownacki remained undefeated with an 18th W in his column after a battle with former world champion Charles Martin.

Kownacki inflicted just the second loss of Martin’s career on the back of the ‘Prince’ dropping his IBF strap to Anthony Joshua in 2016.

Almost putting Martin down twice, Kownacki piled on the pressure towards the end as both fighters swung until the final bell.

At the end of ten rounds, Kownacki took the decision 96-94 on all three cards. WBN scored the bout slightly wider at 98-92 in favor of Kownacki.

In the co-feature, Yordenis Ugas saw out a one-sided win at the welterweight limit over Cesar Barrioneuvo.

Amanda Serrano amazingly won a sixth-weight world title as the talented champion picked up the vacant Women’s WBO super-lightweight belt.

Claiming a points decision with the judges, Serrano once again proved her class just a month before sister Cindy attempts to dethrone lightweight queen Katie Taylor.

New cruiserweight prospect and brother of current World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay, Marsellos Wilder recorded the second straight first round knockout of his fledgling career.

Wilder trapped Ryan Williams in the corner towards the end of the opening session and the fight was quickly halted following a couple of solid blows.

Deontay has already warned the world of the power his 29 year-old sibling possesses, and with less than five minutes of ring time, Marsellos seems content to avoid any overtime in the early stages of his career.

Emerging featherweight star Chris Colbert continues to impress as the 21 year-old completed a whitewash over Fatiou Fassinou to make it nine straight victories in the paid ranks.

Nicknamed ‘Lil’ B-Hop’ after the legendary Bernard Hopkins, the star of Netflix documentary ‘CounterPunch’ is steadily gathering a solid New York fanbase.

At super lightweight, Richardson Hitchins dropped and dominated Cesar Valenzuela to make it six wins as a pro, whilst Brandon Quarles edged an eight-round middleweight affair with Marcus Willis.

Two judges saw the fight the way of Quarles 78-74 and 77-75, although a third carded in favor of Willis 78-74.

Further action saw featherweight Ricky Lopez defeat Ramsey Luna on points over eight after Jeffrey Torres had blasted out Emmanuel Valadez in under two minutes at 135 pounds.

Lopez heads to 20-4, whilst Torres celebrated pushing his record to 5-0.
