It’s official! Season 2 of the World Boxing Super Series will feature the hotly-contested Cruiserweight division as the third and final weight class, with the Bantamweight and Super-Lightweight divisions rounding out the new season.
The single-elimination tournament for the Muhammad Ali Trophy is set to take place from October 2018 until summer 2019, with eight fighters competing. The following match-ups have been announced for the quarter-finals:
No 1 seed Mairis Briedis (24-1, 18 KO’s), Latvia, vs. Noel Mikaelian (23-1, 10 KO’s), Germany
No 2 seed Yunier ‘The KO Doctor’ Dorticos (22-1, 21 KO’s), Cuba, vs. Mateusz ‘Master’ Masternak (41-4, 28 KO’s), Poland
No 3 seed Krzysztof ‘Glowka’ Glowacki (30-1, 19 KO’s), Poland, vs. Maksim ‘The Kill’ Vlasov (42-2, 25 KO’s), Russia
No 4 seed Ruslan Fayfer (23-0, 16 KO’s), Russia, vs. Andrew ‘The Beast’ Tabiti (16-0, 13 KO’s), United States

Not To Be Missed!
Season 2 will also feature something new for WBSS – doubleheader fight nights! Six fight nights on back-to-back weekends will take place, starting on Sunday 7th October in Japan at the Yokohama Arena.
After Japan, The remaining ten quarter-finals will be held in pairs over the following weeks in locations around the globe. More details and ticketing information to be announced in the coming weeks.
